Louis Arinaitwe is the Country Director for the UK’s Department for Business and Trade in Uganda, a position he has held since May 2022. He previously worked in Corporate Banking for over 15 years in a number of international financial institutions including Standard Chartered Bank and Barclays Bank where he gained extensive experience in Relationship Management and Business Development. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. Louis has had a long experience in advising UK businesses in accessing the Ugandan market mainly in the sectors of infrastructure, energy and agriculture as well as a range of other sectors of UK interest. He also leads on development of the mining sector in Uganda. He is currently responsible for developing key projects in the public and private sectors in Uganda and supporting UK businesses to identify and win export projects in key sectors for economic development of both Uganda and the UK.
