Bill Basford
Bill started his interest in farming from a school age, trained at what is now Writtle College then spent most of his career within ADAS as a Mechanisation Specialist offering advice and assisting developments across most aspects of UK farming. He was associated with tramlines as they developed in the mid 1970's, sprayer and fertilising developments, varied crop storage techniques, soils cultivation and management, flower bulb treatments and handling as well as promoting biobeds/biofilters for reducing pollution potential. His varied career gives him an ability to assess many innovations, past & present. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Agricultural Engineers and has been on the judging panel of LAMMA since the early 1990's.
