The Plug&Cool Outdoor system combines the advantages of Plug&Cool Poly Pedestals and Fans while simplifying the process of store handling and filling. Plug&Cool Outdoor is ideal for deep grain stores where moving fans between pedestals can be challenging due to logistics and safety concerns. The Plug&Cool Outdoor Pedestals function similarly to the mobile Poly Pedestals and Fans, utilising the same spacing and method but with the fans being situated outside of the grain store.

Adaptable – Ideal for deep grain piles in stores, bins, and silos, where moving fans between pedestals is impractical due to logistical and safety concerns. These units can be installed in new floors during construction or retrofitted into existing floors, hopper-bottom bins, or silos.
Cost-Effective – Offers a low installation cost per ton and provides more energy-efficient localised cooling compared to conventional underfloor systems. Poly Pedestals are durable and won’t buckle or bend out of shape if hit by a loader.
Easy to Use – Plug&Cool Outdoor system includes a 1m perforated Poly Pedestal with a conical cap that deflects grain during filling. The Pedestal connects to an underfloor duct via the twist-to-lock base plate recessed in the concrete floor. When the store is empty, a manhole cover can be placed over the recess, making the floor multi-purpose.
How it works
Once the Pedestals are fitted onto the twist-to-lock base plate, the grain can be filled into the grain store via a loader or by overhead filling. The Plug&Cool Outdoor Grain Fans can then be switched on to begin cooling the grain. The fans will draw out the heat from the grain pile and expel outside, alleviating the need of an axial vent fan, although this is still advisable to ventilate the grain store as much as possible.
