Compact and powerful Kubota V5009 engine offers major benefits for the farming and forestry sectors.

One of the main attractions on the Kubota stand at Lamma 2025 will be the V5009 engine which is the company’s first ever diesel above 200 horsepower (HP) and which meets the needs of diverse sectors – especially the agricultural industry. The 5.017 litre engine builds on Kubota’s long-standing farming machinery experience and its reputation for manufacturing high power, compact and cost- effective engines.

Part of the ground-breaking Kubota 09 Series, the V5009 engine has received global customer acclaim for its low fuel consumption based on the model’s optimised combustion system, high power density, easy maintenance and emissions compliance.
The V5009 is particularly well suited for forestry and agricultural applications such as crop sprayers but is also suitable for mobile gen sets and the construction and industrial machinery markets.
The engine is attracting significant interest worldwide from customers who would traditionally require larger, heavier six or seven litre models to meet their higher power needs thus leading to significant financial savings for machine operators. That means the engine supplies greater power without requiring extra installation
space.

Offering 210.9 HP (157.3 kW) at 2200 rpm the four-cylinder, vertical, water-cooled engine offers operators great versatility such as 100% power take-off (PTO) at the flywheel and front end; side PTO which takes up to three hydraulic pumps; choice of
flywheel housings and flywheels for OEM coupling and an auxiliary PTO. For ease of upkeep the engine has an automatic belt tensioner and one-side maintenance and complies with EU Stage V and EPA/CARB Tier 4 emissions regulations met by a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst, Diesel Particulate Filter and Selective
Catalytic Reduction. Daniel Grant, Marketing Manager Intelligence, Business Unit Engines Europe, Kubota, said: “For the farming and forestry industries the V5009 offers a range of great benefits such as reduced operating costs and easier maintenance supported by Kubota’s decades-long expertise in the sectors.”

The V5009 is on the Kubota stand (12.330) at LAMMA, January 15 and 16, 2025 at the NEC, Birmingham, England.
